After a 12-mile ruck march for Air Assault school, Paden Sickles’s feet were in bad shape. That’s when the Army veteran decided to create her own socks, socks that would cushion her feet instead of creating blisters. Paden is the Founder of SickFit, a unique sock, streetwear, and custom embroidery company. After attending an in-person class taught by the Second Service Foundation’s Executive Director Lauren Hope, Paden consistently came back to the organization for additional education and resources. After attending multiple online classes as well as joining the Finding Your Second Service executive coaching pilot program, Paden went to the National Finale: Military Entrepreneur Challenge. She attended our speed coaching session with subject matter experts, networked with peers and potential customers and donors, and then won second place in our pitch competition. The prize grant will scale and grow her business faster than she would have been able to do on her own.

Do you have a service or product that can benefit our military entrepreneurs? We would be delighted to partner to award your donation to vetted and deserving military small business owners and nonprofit leaders. If your organization is interested in partnering to make a contribution, please contact: admin@secondservicefoundation.
Speaking from experience, our military entrepreneurs are working hard for a hand up, not a hand out. The Second Service Foundation is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit and accepts charitable donations to help advance underserved military entrepreneurs in their business endeavors. Monetary donations are used to give grants to vetted entrepreneurs, employ active-duty military spouses remotely, and change the landscape for the military community.
If your organization is interested in impacting the military entrepreneur community through donation of grants or relevant services, the Second Service Foundation would be delighted to partner.
Looking to spice up your next military conference? Let’s talk to see if we are the right fit for your event, and let us bring philanthropic entertainment to your audience! We select our event partnerships based on the relevance to the military community and alignment to our mission and objectives. If you are interested in hosting our Military Entrepreneur Challenge at your event, and enticing your sponsors the capital grants given directly to military entrepreneurs, please contact us at admin@secondservicefoundation.org.
Do you have a corporate boardroom or an event space that you would like to donate use of to the Second Service Foundation charity work? As a completely remote staff, a place to call our ‘work home’ and host board meetings, advisory board meetings, and networking events would help us free up monetary donations to directly support our mission. If you are interested in hosting our team at your space, please contact us at admin@secondservicefoundation.org.
Speed coaching mentees, coaches, judges, and pitch competition Finalists will have to pay their own way to travel to specific locations in order to participate in live events. Travel accommodations are the responsibility of each individual party and are to be made of one’s own accord, but your donation could alleviate that stress. The Second Service Foundation would like to subsidize travel expenses. If your organization is interested in partnering to assist with participants’ travel expenses, or donating rewards points to the Foundation, please contact admin@secondservicefoundation.org to start the conversation.
Share your experiences with our military entrepreneurs. Host of the ‘Military American Dream™’ podcast, our audience would love to learn more about your business pursuits, niche expertise, and your entrepreneurial success. Apply to be a guest on the podcast here.

Military entrepreneurs face challenges after serving our country and constant relocation, including access to capital, connecting with qualified mentors, and limited local networks. With your charitable donation, Second Service Foundation is able to provide coaching, capital, and resources to offer a hand up, and not a hand out, for those that put their lives on the line for the American Dream.
