Make a Difference

As a nonprofit that intentionally stewards funds toward the community we serve, we look to volunteers willing to give back to their military neighbors. We value contributions of time, effort, and business expertise so we can concentrate our funds on supporting military small businesses through coaching, capital, and resources.

From our entrepreneurs

Volunteer to Be Part of Their Growth

“Recently I have been given a couple of opportunities to develop and grow as a leader, but [Finding Your Second Service] was by far the most applicable and beneficial program to help where I am at right now. I learned so much about myself and how to use and control my strengths.”
Julie Eshelman
Co-Founder of Building Military Families Networks
“I am thankful for the opportunity to have presented Family Proud [at the Military Entrepreneur Challenge™], and I had a great time meeting everyone! I look forward to staying in touch with the Second Service Foundation and please do let me know how I can support or pay it forward in any way.”
Jaden Risner
Co-Founder of Family Proud
“My favorite part of the Military Entrepreneur Challenge™ was the one-on-one coaching sessions. I get to learn a lot from all the wealth of knowledge and information from the judges. They were so generous and readily available to help, support and listen to my concerns and aspirations.”
Maria Williams
Co-Founder and CEO of Sweet Melao

Ways to Volunteer

Speed Coaching

If you are a subject matter expert or have business acumen to impart, join us for a speed coaching event! You will have three rounds of 20/30-minute increments to mentor a veteran or military spouse entrepreneur.

Military Entrepreneur Challenge Judge

If you want to have a front-row seat to our military small business owners and nonprofit leaders during our Military Entrepreneur Challenge pitch competition, lend your good judgment and business insight to the Judging Room!

Event Volunteer

Putting on in-person events can be challenging, so we appreciate the dedication of our event volunteers! Whether it’s for staging, signing everyone in, or directing people where they need to be, we can always use extra hands!

Subject Matter Expert Interview

If you are a subject matter expert who wants to deep dive into your niche for the benefit of our community, sign up to be interviewed by our staff! These recordings will be legacy videos in our future library, ensuring entrepreneurs of all stages and backgrounds understand the nuances of running a business successfully.

Our Impact

Support Military Entrepreneurs

Military entrepreneurs face challenges after serving our country and constant relocation, including access to capital, connecting with qualified mentors, and limited local networks. With your charitable donation, Second Service Foundation is able to provide coaching, capital, and resources to offer a hand up, and not a hand out, for those that put their lives on the line for the American Dream.
