Finding Your Second Service (FYSS) is an innovative executive coaching program that uses a strengths-based approach to help you explore your talents and strengths to determine your “second service.”
Join Army Chaplain Matthew Weathers and Corie Weathers, LPC, NCC, in a transformative journey through our online modules and then receive one hour of executive coaching from a Second Service Foundation coach to help review your strengths and determine your next actionable steps.

Work through a self-paced online course with instructional videos, informative texts, and reflective activities designed by the Second Service Foundation and coaches Matt and Corie Weathers. Our online content helps you to begin answering the question, “what is your second service?”
As part of the Finding Your Second Service program, selected participants will receive a code to take the CliftonStrengths® assessment, an internationally recognized assessment to help you understand your strengths to unlock your potential. As a program participant, you will receive the assessment at no cost to you.
Accepted participants will have the opportunity to join Second Service Foundation’s coaches for a one-hour executive coaching session following the completion of the online course. This is a fantastic opportunity to discuss your CliftonStrengths® results to help determine your next actionable steps.
Participants will receive an exclusive Finding Your Second Service (FYSS) workbook to help navigate finding your second service. This workbook was designed to assist in discovering your strengths, passions, and gaining the clarity you need to chase your goals. The FYSS Workbook is a dynamic resource that complements your coaching experience, enabling you to make the most of every step of the FYSS program.

Complete the online application for your chance to participate in the Finding Your Second Service Program. Applicants will be notified if they are selected for participation.
Once accepted into the program, you will receive information from the Second Service Foundation Coaching Success Manager to get started.
As a participant in the FYSS program, you will be invited into our exclusive FYSS community platform. Here you will get access to the online modules, the workbook, and a community networking space.

The Finding Your Second Service Program was developed thanks to the Second Service Foundation’s partnership with the D’Aniello Institute for Veterans and Military Families at Syracuse University.
The Second Service Foundation is part of Syracuse University’s D’Aniello Institute for Veterans and Military Families’ (IVMF) CNPP Partner Network, a program funded in part by the Small Business Administration to help reduce barriers to entrepreneurship. As a partner, we are providing veteran and military-connected entrepreneurs resources, business coaching, and the opportunity to receive capital impact grants.

The first portion of the Finding Your Second Service program is four hours of curated content from our team of Executive Coaches. During the curriculum, you will be expected to take the CliftonStrengths® assessment. The second portion of the program will include live one-on-one coaching with a member of our Executive Coaching team. Our coaches will review your assessment results with you, as well as discuss the reflective homework assignments completed during the first portion of the program.
This is an online program, so it goes wherever you are! There are no physical meet-ups for this course, so geography is not a concern for Participants.
This program is completely free to our participants, thanks to sponsorship by the D’Aniello Institute for Veterans and Military Families. While it is an exclusive program that requires application and acceptance, this career-coaching program is given at no cost to our Participants.
Absolutely! This program is for entrepreneurs of all stages, whether you are in ideation or have been in business for years. Our esteemed coaches will meet you wherever you are in your entrepreneurial journey.

There are four hours of videos throughout the program, which is self-paced. The expectation is for you to complete the digital coursework and schedule your coaching session with one of our executive coaches within a two-week period. The scheduled coaching session(s) may fall outside of the two-week time frame based on availability.
