Mark L. Rockefeller is a husband, father, serial entrepreneur, investor, and military veteran. He is the Founder and Chairman of The Second Service Foundation (formerly the StreetShares Foundation), a 501(c)3 that has funded, educated, or trained over 10,000 military veterans and spouses to become entrepreneurs and small business owners.
Mark is currently the Co-Founder and CEO of a venture studio focused on the intersection of artificial intelligence and social impact. He was previously the Co-Founder and CEO of StreetShares, an award-winning SaaS platform that was acquired by MeridianLink (NYSE: MLNK) in 2022. Earlier in this career, he was an attorney with Milbank LLP, a former Federal Prosecutor, co-founded a residential real estate company with his wife, Clare, and founded a nonprofit social enterprise project in Africa.
His work has been featured in The Wall Street Journal, CNBC, Forbes, Entrepreneur, Inc., Bloomberg Businessweek, Fox News, and others. Entrepreneur Magazine called Mark one of “12 Remarkable Veterans Who Changed Business Forever” (2017), and Inc. Magazine named him as one of the “Top 20 Military Veteran Tech Entrepreneurs in America” (2016).
Born into a middle class family with a legacy of military service going back to the Revolutionary War, Mark was raised in Colorado and Montana. He attended public schools and married his college girlfriend, Clare, when they were both age 21. Together, they’ve experienced multiple military moves, deployments, and built a family and businesses together. They live outside of Washington, DC with their children and a German Shepard named Boaz.
