Abby Ammons is a writer, military spouse, and mother. She understands that intentional change starts with listening to people’s stories. Her background in education and communications have provided opportunities to advocate, encourage, and support those whose voices were seldom heard.
As a military spouse, her resume is eclectic. With a degree in public relations and her experience as a copy editor, preschool teacher, writer, and publicist, she continues to gain a lot of insight into the world of communications. Using this hard-won knowledge, she serves on the board as the Communications Director for Stronghold Community Food Pantry, a 501(c)(3) organization that combats food insecurity among active-duty military. Based in Fort Leavenworth, KS, it has plans to expand to military installations across the United States to ensure military families facing food insecurity get the resources and support needed.
