Meet Our Leadership

Abby Ammons

Director of Communications

Abby Ammons is a writer, military spouse, and dedicated encourager. She believes that intentional change starts with listening to people’s stories.

After graduating from Lipscomb University with a degree in Public Relations, complete with internships at a London PR firm and the Lipscomb University Institute for Conflict Management, Abby worked for the esteemed M. Lee Smith Publishers as a copy editor, refining the words of attorneys across the US. Though marrying into the Army took her away from her beloved Nashville, living all over the country has enriched her life with a wealth of wisdom, experiences, and relationships.

In her spare time, Abby sits on the Board of Directors for Stronghold Food Pantry based out of Fort Leavenworth, KS, as well as serves as its Communications Director. Forever a writer at heart, some of the highlights include being selected for the 2020 Lysa TerKeurst Book Proposal Boot Camp, writing the Armed Forces Insurance Military Spouse of the Year® pledge in 2022, and frequently giving advice to the world from her biggest influencer and cheerleader: her grandmother. She guest writes for multiple military publications with a personal mission of giving military spouses hope, encouragement, and a spotlight for telling their own story.

With her husband currently stationed with the 82nd Airborne Division, they are enjoying life back in the South. They have two fiery daughters who are being raised to change the world, and four dogs because Abby is an animal lover who can’t resist puppy eyes.
